Long term investments have to be built on sustainable
legal contracts. To establish this, Maya works in cooperation with leading
local and foreign law offices and employs associates with appropriate
experience.
The legislation governing the foreign investments in
Türkiye has been shaped by the Foreign Capital Law which was enacted in
1954 and the Council of Ministers Decree and Communiqué which were revised
in 1995. Recently, on June 2003,
a new law for foreign direct investments has been
ratified by the parliament, which aims to improve the overall investment
climate substantially. Decree concerning state encouragements to
investments and the investment encouragement fund was enacted in 1998.
Free Trade Zone Law
encompasses the establishment of free zones; the determination of
their location and boundaries; their management; the scope of their
activities; their operation; and the establishment of the installations and
facilities within the zone.
